- Backordered, shipping soon
If you own a Lectric XP 3.0 and you're ready to move beyond the stock braking setup, this Hydraulic Brake Upgrade Kit gives you a complete front-and-rear hydraulic system built specifically for your bike. No guessing at compatibility, no sourcing individual parts from three different sellers — everything you need to make the swap arrives in one box.
This kit has been confirmed compatible with the Lectric XP 3.0. That matters more than it sounds. Hydraulic brake systems are not universally interchangeable — hose lengths, lever orientation (front vs. rear), and motor cutoff sensor wiring all have to line up with your specific frame and handlebar layout. We've had customers on other bikes run into situations where a hose was too short to reach the connection point or the front and rear levers arrived inverted. This kit is spec'd for the XP 3.0 geometry, so the hose lengths reach where they need to go and the levers are oriented correctly for left-hand front and right-hand rear (standard configuration).
The system uses a 2-piston caliper design on both ends and includes power-off (motor inhibitor) sensors built into the levers. When you pull either brake lever, the sensor cuts motor power immediately before the pads engage the rotor — this is the behavior you'd expect from a properly integrated e-bike brake system, and it's included here, not an afterthought. If your current mechanical brakes don't cut motor power reliably, you'll notice the difference right away.
What's in the box: a complete front hydraulic brake assembly (lever, hose, caliper, hardware), a complete rear hydraulic brake assembly (lever, hose, caliper, hardware), and the hardware needed for mounting. The system arrives pre-filled with mineral oil and pre-bled from the factory, which means most riders can install and ride without needing to bleed the lines — though having a bleed kit on hand is never a bad idea if you're doing any hose trimming or routing adjustments. You will need a T25 Torx, a 5mm hex key, and a cable tie kit at minimum. A torque wrench is recommended for caliper bolts.
Installation difficulty is moderate. If you've swapped brake pads or adjusted calipers before, you can handle this. The most time-consuming part is routing the hoses cleanly along the frame and through any cable guides. Plan for 60–90 minutes for a first-time install. If you haven't worked with hydraulic systems before, it's worth watching a brake bleed tutorial before you start — not because you'll definitely need to bleed, but because understanding the system makes the install less intimidating. If at any point a hose feels too short to route naturally to its connection point without tension, stop and contact us before proceeding.
Orders ship from our warehouse in Spain, with delivery typically taking fast international shipping to most destinations. Tracking is provided once your order is processed. If you have a compatibility question before ordering — or want to confirm fitment for a specific build — reach out to us first. We'd rather answer a question up front than sort out a return after the fact.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this kit confirmed compatible with the Lectric XP 3.0?
Yes — this kit has been verified compatible with the Lectric XP 3.0. If you're on a different bike model, contact us before ordering so we can confirm fitment, including hose lengths and lever orientation.
Where does this ship from and how long does delivery take?
Fast international shipping — most orders arrive within 5-7 business days. You'll receive a tracking number once your order has been dispatched. Contact us at info@amperbike.com if you have questions about your region.
Do I need hydraulic brake experience to install this?
Moderate mechanical comfort is recommended — if you've done basic bike maintenance, you can handle this install. The system arrives pre-bled, so most riders won't need to bleed the lines, but plan for 60–90 minutes and have a T25 Torx and 5mm hex key ready.
What is your return policy if something is wrong with the kit?
If you receive a defective unit or a kit that isn't correctly spec'd for your bike — such as a hose that's too short or levers that are oriented incorrectly — contact us immediately with your order number and photos. We work to resolve returns and replacements as quickly as possible.
Does this kit include motor cutoff (power-off) sensors in the levers?
Yes, both the front and rear levers include built-in power-off sensors that cut motor power when you pull the brake — this is a 2-piston system and the sensors are included, not optional add-ons.
Installation Notes
Before you start, gather the following tools: T25 Torx driver, 5mm hex key (Allen wrench), cable ties, and optionally a torque wrench for caliper bolts. Having a clean rag and a small container nearby is helpful in case any mineral oil drips during routing. Do not use DOT fluid — this system runs on mineral oil only.
Begin by removing your existing brake levers and calipers, keeping note of how the hoses were routed along your frame. Mount the new levers to the handlebar, then route each hose down the frame following the original cable path as closely as possible. The front brake runs left-hand lever to front caliper; the rear runs right-hand lever to rear caliper. Take care not to kink the hose or put any tension on it at the connection points — if a hose feels like it barely reaches, do not force it.
Once the calipers are bolted in place (snug, not overtightened — around 6–8 Nm if you have a torque wrench), align each caliper over the rotor by loosening the mounting bolts, squeezing the lever to center the pads, and retightening. Spin each wheel to confirm there's no persistent rub. The system arrives pre-bled, so if your levers feel firm and responsive, you're done.
If either lever feels spongy or the pads don't engage cleanly after install, the system may need a bleed. This is normal if any air entered the line during install. A standard mineral oil bleed kit and a 10-minute bleed procedure will fix it. If you're unsure about any step or notice a hose length issue specific to your build, stop and reach out to us — it's easier to sort out before everything is reassembled.
